I have been honored to have worked with women, children, and families throughout my social work career, which has spanned for over 25 years. Since 2022, I have worked at Royal Emotional Care in Antioch as a registered Associate Social Worker (ASW) offering in-person and telehealth sessions in both English and Spanish. My areas of specialty include working with families involved and impacted by child welfare, monolingual Spanish-speaking families, and persons with trauma histories including survivors of childhood abuse and neglect, sexual assault, and those affected by intimate partner violence.
Social Work is “the skilled use of self.” As your therapist, I will strive to be fully present, engage in active and attentive listening, provide unconditional positive regard, and see you as an individual with unique life moments. My goal is that you find a trusting and safe space as we partner along your healing journey. I will receive you with warmth, compassion, and empathy starting wherever you are.
I utilize various treatment modalities and have been trained in crisis-intervention, solution-focused brief therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. As a life-long learner I will continue expanding my knowledge, skills, and abilities while working towards obtaining my clinical license in social work (LCSW). My therapeutic lens moves beyond pathology and towards healing, while concurrently examining systemic issues such as racism, xenophobia, economic disparities, and inequities based on gender and sexual identities.
We all experience challenges and pain which may lead to feeling “stuck,” hopeless, or helpless. I truly believe you are more than your pain and greater than your shame. My passion is to help you visualize a preferred future, moving towards healing, and finding hope along the way. If you are willing, I would be humbled and honored to partner with you along your journey.
